Kadukka
Haritaki is known to ease bowel movements, one of the complications of haemorroid. It helps in reducing the pile mass and reduces or stops bleeding. Its principle constituents contains chebulagic, chebulinic acid and corilagin. Its fruits have a laxative, tonic and alterative properties. Its also known as adaptogen and hepatoprotective. It can also be used for abdominal distention, constipation, flatulence and hiccups etc.
Koduveli
Of all the herbs that are carminative, digestive, useful in haemorroids, anti inflammatory and anti colic, leadwort is the best. It contains plumbagin – yellow substance, and also contains sucrose, protease, and fructose. It improves digestive strength, relieves sprue, malabsorption syndromes and useful in haemorroids of vata origin.
Thippalli
Pippali is a well known ayurvedic drug and useful in respiratory conditions and contains constituents like piperine, piper longumin, piper longuminine, pipercide, sesamine, beta sitosterol and is useful in various medical conditions like obesity, asma, anaemia, tuberculosis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.
Bhallataka
It is used for improving sexual power and increasing sperm count, curing diseases related to digestive system, balancing Kaph dosha in body. It is said that, no Kapha dosha remains after it is treated with this fruit. The red-orange part is collected and dried in sun. It is consumed after it is semi dried. If consumed in very large quantity, it is said to induce abortion. In moderation, it is however considered good for female reproductive system. Various parts of these plants are commonly used in the Ayurvedic system of medicine for the treatment of various ailments, mainly alimentary tract and certain dermatological conditions. Reports have shown noticeable impact on illnesses related to the heart, blood pressure, respiration, cancer and neurological disorders The seed inside the samecarpus anacardium is known as "Godambi" in Hindi and is widely used in India as dry fruit. Godambi is eaten by Indians in winter and was commonly used as a method of birth control for women .
